Ubisoft Introduces Free NFT Mint for Champions Tactics Game

Share

Ubisoft, the renowned video game publisher behind Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance, is launching a free NFT mint for its new blockchain game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles.

The NFT mint will take place on Oasys, a gaming-centric network. Players can collect 75,000 in-game champion figurines. The mint will be free with no gas fees. Holders of Warlords NFTs will have early access and can claim more champions.

The first phase is already live since Monday. Holders of the Warlords profile picture (PFP) NFTs, initially minted on Ethereum and distributed for free last year, can mint up to five champion NFTs. Though initially free, Warlords NFTs now start at about $210 in ETH on secondary markets. Since last December, the 9,999-item project has generated approximately $7.7 million in trading volume, according to NFTgo.

Starting Thursday, July 18, non-Warlords NFT owners can mint free champion NFTs on Oasys. Users need a Ubisoft account, an Oasys wallet, and must be at least 18 years old.

Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles is Ubisoft’s first blockchain-based strategy game, announced last summer. Last week, Ubisoft launched the game’s first closed beta ahead of the NFT mint, gearing up for a full launch later this year.
