Ubisoft, Arbitrum, and Sequence have teamed up to launch a revolutionary title in Web3 gaming: Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. This new release extends the universe of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, a series that originated on Netflix. Featuring iconic characters from franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, and Beyond Good & Evil, the game aims to redefine player interaction in a Web3 environment.
Nicolas Pouard, VP of Ubisoft Labs, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “With Arbitrum’s cutting-edge blockchain technology and Sequence’s comprehensive Web3 solutions, Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. is set to redefine player-driven experiences.”
Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. invites players into the dystopian world of Eden, where they can enhance their citizen score by overcoming various challenges. This score directly influences their ability to affect the game’s narrative and participate in significant decisions. The game promises an unprecedented level of player involvement, allowing users to shape the story and the game’s evolution actively.
Peter Kieltyka, CEO of Sequence, highlighted the game’s innovative aspects. “Sequence’s Web3 platform ensures a smooth player experience and opens up limitless creative possibilities for Captain Laserhawk and its community.”
As a top-down multiplayer shooter crafted by Ubisoft, Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. features Eden Online, a component that empowers players in decision-making processes. In this layer, players can unlock, create, and share content, influencing the game’s development. The beta version is set to launch by the end of August.
Nina Rong, Head of Ecosystem Development at Arbitrum Foundation, shared her perspective. “It’s thrilling to see leading studios like Ubisoft leveraging Arbitrum’s technology for community-driven projects, marking a significant milestone in industry adoption.”
An essential feature of the game is the Eden Score, reflecting a player’s impact on DAO decision-making. This score is determined by completed tasks, leaderboard rankings, and the rarity of the Citizen ID Card. A higher Eden Score translates to greater influence over key decisions within the game.
Originating from the French-American animated series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, the franchise blends elements from Ubisoft’s popular games. Created by Adi Shankar and inspired by Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the series debuted on Netflix in October 2023. The show follows Dolph Laserhawk, a rebel super-soldier in a dystopian Eden. Building on the series’ success, the new game integrates the IP into the Web3 space.
To participate in the game’s early access, players must obtain a Citizen ID Card. This card provides entry to all Eden experiences, private community channels, and governance rights. It also tracks achievements and rankings, making it essential for engagement within the game world. Players can claim their ID card once the official mint goes live.
Owning a Citizen ID Card comes with numerous benefits, including early game access, VIP experiences, governance voting rights, invitations to Ubisoft events, exclusive merchandise, and opportunities to earn in-game tokens and rewards.
