THQ Nordic and Appeal Studios Set Release Date for Outcast: A New Beginning

Finally, after much suspense, Appeal Studios and THQ Nordic have revealed the official release date for “Outcast: A New Beginning.” The sci-fi action-adventure game “Outcast” is a follow-up to the legendary game from the late 1990s, “Outcast,” which was recognized for its distinct humor and innovative position in the open-world genre.

In the follow-up, players are reunited with the beloved lead character, Cutter Slade, and are sent back to Adelpha, an extraterrestrial planet. Repelling invading humanoid robots and solving the secrets underlying his return to this alien world are the backdrops against which Slade’s quest plays out.

Immersive Gameplay Experience

During a recent digital event, executive producer Michael Paeck shared his thoughts and stated that players should allow 30 to 35 hours to fully explore the primary plot. But the game also has a large open environment with lots of side objectives, which adds even more richness to the gameplay.

Paeck highlighted Slade’s flexibility, made possible by his early purchase of a jetpack, which allows for smooth mobility around Adelpha. With the exception of a few flying alien spacecraft, every area on the map is reachable on foot.

The producers decided to exclude the numerical designation from the original 2021 announcement, “Outcast 2: A New Beginning,” in order to improve accessibility. 1999 saw the release of the first “Outcast” remake, which was followed by the highly regarded 2017 iteration known as “Outcast: Second Contact.”

On March 15, 2024, “Outcast: A New Beginning” will be released for the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 editions will retail for $69.99, while the PC version costs $59.99.

A new chapter in the Outcast tale including improved visuals, gaming mechanics, and the captivating environment of Adelpha is something fans and enthusiasts should look forward to. Cutter Slade will also be making a return appearance.
