Two of the top decentralized game platforms, The Sandbox and Upland, have partnered in an innovative way to promote innovation and community involvement.
Upland intends to put its headquarters on a 6×6 LAND in The Sandbox, while The Sandbox will have a private neighborhood within one of Upland’s towns. This partnership promotes exploration and connection across platforms.
Both platforms will have a design competition to commemorate the debut. Designers are invited to submit plans for The Sandbox, Upland’s headquarters, or voxel-styled buildings for the community. The brilliance and inventiveness of both communities are honored in this tournament.
Exclusive releases are part of the partnership’s initial phase, encouraging community members to check out both sites. Owners of Upland LAND will get virtual properties through The Sandbox, and by fulfilling activities there, Uplanders may earn SAND and unique NFTs.
At Upland’s live Genesis Week event, details and a schedule will be revealed, along with the start of the design competition. A fireside conversation on the partnership’s goals will take place on June 7 at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas.
The co-founder and chief operating officer of The Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, emphasized the importance of the partnership in transforming digital communication and promoting innovation throughout industries.
Dirk Lueth, Upland’s co-founder and co-CEO, highlighted how innovative the relationship is in improving the gaming experience for both communities.
In order to realize the goal of an Open Metaverse, this cooperation represents a major step forward for us as founding members of OMA3 (Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3).
