The Resident Evil series is continuing its spread to Apple devices, as announced by Capcom. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and the Resident Evil 2 Remake are making their way to iOS, broadening the series’ reach into mobile gaming.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the series’ first foray into first-person gameplay, will debut on July 2. Meanwhile, the Resident Evil 2 remake is still under development for iOS. Both titles will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and any iPad or Mac equipped with the M1 chip or later.
These iOS versions will include enhanced controls tailored for mobile gaming. A notable addition is the Auto Fire feature, which automatically fires guns when aimed at enemies, making the gameplay more accessible. Resident Evil 7 will also come with the “Not A Hero” DLC featuring Chris Redfield. Players can opt for the Gold Edition, which includes additional content like “End of Zoe,” volumes 1 and 2 of “Banned Footage,” and the challenging “Madhouse” difficulty mode.
To give players a taste before committing to a purchase, Capcom offers a free downloadable slice of each game.
Originally launched in 2017, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard introduced players to Ethan Winters, who embarks on a harrowing journey through a sinister house in the backwoods, searching for his missing wife. This entry revitalized the series with its first-person perspective and kicked off the narrative that continued in Resident Evil Village. Speaking of Village, that game, along with the original Resident Evil, was ported to Apple platforms last year, demonstrating Capcom’s commitment to bringing high-quality gaming experiences to mobile devices.
For those curious about how these intense horror games translate to mobile, Capcom has showcased gameplay from Resident Evil Village on an iPhone in an episode of New Gameplay Today. This demonstrates the technical prowess and adaptability of these ports, ensuring that the terror of Resident Evil can be experienced on-the-go without compromising on quality.
