Ubisoft has announced its ambitious year-long plan for Rainbow Six Siege’s ninth year, shortly after the conclusion of the Six Invitational, the game’s largest esports event to date, held in Brazil. The upcoming roadmap promises a series of substantial updates throughout 2024, including four seasons filled with new features, player enhancements, and significant game improvements, signaling Ubisoft’s ongoing commitment to the game’s success and community engagement.

The roadmap offers a sneak peek into future updates categorized into major features, player protection, game balancing, enhancements for player comfort, and improvements for new player onboarding. This initiative highlights Ubisoft’s effort to maintain the game’s growth and popularity by introducing Operation Deadly Omen and various other enhancements.

Operation Deadly Omen, unveiled at the Six Invitational’s closing in Sao Paulo, introduces a new Operator, modifies attachments, ADS, shield mechanics, adds a new Locker inventory mode, and implements a series of updates across the board. But the innovations don’t stop there; Ubisoft has a packed schedule for Year 9, featuring:

  • Remastered versions of a Recruit and an American Operator
  • Enhanced moderation and ban enforcement mechanisms
  • Official release of the marketplace
  • Introduction of Console to PC crossplay 1.0
  • Match cancellation feature update 3.0
  • Versus AI mode improvement 2.0
  • Updates to operators Solis, Fenrir, Dokkaebi
  • New map additions
  • Implementation of dynamic matchmaking 1.0
  • Shooting range enhancements

Additionally, Year 9 will see new battle passes and Operator vouchers, enriching the player experience. The roadmap also outlines an exciting competitive scene for Rainbow Six Siege, including the inaugural BLAST R6 Major in Manchester, UK, in May. This follows the success of the Six Invitational, setting the stage for an exhilarating future in esports for the game.

Despite being nearly a decade old, Ubisoft’s dedication to evolving Rainbow Six Siege remains unwavering, promising players an engaging and refreshed gaming experience in the coming year.
