A dynamic play-to-earn dungeon crawler called Pixel Dungeons has been released by the same team that created the Ethereum-based farming game Pixels. Offering a fast-paced experience that combines strategy, competitiveness, and token prizes, this new game is accessible on the Ronin gaming network.
Players are drawn into two-minute dungeon runs with challenges and rewards in Pixel Dungeons. While using TNT to clear paths, get rid of goblins, and avoid lava traps, players gather PIXEL tokens. Sabotaging rivals to take their treasures is the competitive twist.
Developed in collaboration with Crack and Stack, this game marks Pixels’ first collaboration with an outside publishing company. It displays the team’s dedication to expanding its selection of games while keeping the PIXEL token as the main source of revenue.
The integration with the Pixels ecosystem strengthens the PIXEL token’s utility, creating seamless transitions for players across multiple games.
Pixels founder and CEO Luke Barwikowski highlighted the strategic importance of the PIXEL token in unifying their gaming platforms. “The PIXEL token is central to everything we build, allowing players to earn and use tokens across an ecosystem of games,” said Barwikowski.
The Ronin-powered Pixels game has maintained strong engagement, with around 200,000 monthly active spenders. In November, 22 million PIXEL tokens—valued at $5 million—were distributed, with players reinvesting half of their earnings within the ecosystem.
To reward loyal players, Pixel Dungeons offers early access through a closed beta. Eligibility depends on a reputation score of 3,000 or higher in Pixels. Qualified players can explore both free and premium maps, encouraging sustained engagement and skillful gameplay.
