Phase 2: Next Frontiers will roll out in parts over the coming months. The first release, on June 16th, introduced level 8 HQs and new Traps. Players can now use the Explosive Mine and the Flying Bomb to protect their bases from enemy troops.
This update also includes a base layout editor, daily presents, daily challenges, bug fixes, and superpowers for the hero Mira. While significant, this is just the start of what the Heroes of Mavia team has planned.
Ruby, the in-game currency, is set for several new features. Ruby Scan will allow anyone to see Ruby transactions, similar to a blockchain explorer. This is crucial as Ruby interacts with the blockchain when players purchase NFTs, with more integrations to come.
Players will use Ruby tokens on the upcoming web marketplace, a player-based economy for buying and selling legendary item NFTs with Ruby and MAVIA tokens. The marketplace will charge a 2.5% transaction fee, rewarding liquidity providers.
Heroes of Mavia will offer a liquidity pool where users can deposit MAVIA tokens to earn more MAVIA from marketplace fees. The LP will convert MAVIA tokens into Ruby and NFTs as needed, but users only need to deposit MAVIA to participate.
Ruby Staking will be available, allowing players to earn Ruby by playing and then lock up Ruby tokens to earn MAVIA tokens. The team also plans to build a token swap feature for easy conversion between Ruby and MAVIA.
Land NFTs will soon be integrated into the game. Landholders can bridge their NFTs from Ethereum to Base, buying, selling, and renting them on the Mavia marketplace for MAVIA or Ruby tokens. Landowners will need to bridge their NFTs to use them in-game, earning daily Ruby tokens, access to crafting certain NFTs, free tournament entries, and more.
Real-time PvP battles are coming soon. These PvE races will see players attacking the same random base with the same troops. The player who causes the most damage or achieves three stars first wins. Entry fees, paid in Ruby, will be pooled, with the winner taking the pot minus a 5% fee, which is burned.
Alliance-based PvP battles, funded from Alliance coffers, will also be introduced. This new combat feature not only offers new gameplay but also creates demand for Ruby and acts as a token sink through burned tokens.
Heroes of Mavia plans to offer ongoing royalties for players who mint new legendary items first. Details on this feature are forthcoming, but it is an intriguing concept.
No specific timeline is provided for these features, but these developments are promising steps forward for this base-building game. Players can look forward to these exciting new features soon.
