The makers of Parallel TCG, Parallel Studios, have formally unveiled the new moniker for their much awaited Web3 game. Sanctuary is the current name of the game, which was once known as Project Tau Ceti. The company also unveiled a cinematic clip that teases the game’s idea and evocative sci-fi setting in addition to the name revelation.
Built on B3, the Base network’s open gaming layer 3, Sanctuary is a third-person extraction shooter. It is compatible with Echelon Prime, the blockchain environment that powers the studio’s AI-powered strategy game Parallel Colony and Parallel TCG. Sanctuary was once a side project, but community enthusiasm has given it a lot of traction, and the company is now planning to add another top-notch blockchain gaming experience to the Parallel universe.
The newly released trailer does not showcase gameplay but provides a glimpse into the world of Sanctuary. It follows an injured soldier scavenging a crate for valuable materials before stepping outside and gazing at a distant celestial structure, possibly a safe haven or home base.
Based on the trailer’s visuals and the game’s extraction shooter genre, players will likely explore planets, locate resource-filled crates, and attempt to escape safely. These materials could be used to upgrade gear or trade within the game’s blockchain-driven economy. Past footage from September 2024 hinted at a mix of PvE and PvP combat, further supporting this gameplay loop. Fans now eagerly await an official gameplay showcase.
The reveal took place during the Parallel Prime Championship, where the first-ever Parallel League Prime Champion was crowned. The tournament’s grand prize of $100,000 went to Jarla, marking a significant milestone in the competition’s history.
In addition to Sanctuary, Parallel TCG will expand its reach by launching on mobile devices on March 19. Players can pre-register on the official website before its release on Android and iOS.
Earlier this year, Echelon also pledged $3 million in prize pools for Parallel Prime League Seasons 2 and 3, further solidifying the Parallel franchise’s growth in the Web3 gaming space.
