The first expansion for its sci-fi trading card game, “Planetfall,” has been released, according to Parallel Studios. More than 120 new NFT cards are included in this expansion and may be acquired through blind packs or exchanged between players.
There are three different card bundle choices available to gamers as the “Planetfall” expansion gets ready to launch. The Player Pack comes with 10 cards and costs 0.018 ETH, or around $32. Ten cards are included in the Collector’s Pack, which costs 0.18 ETH ($320). The most comprehensive option is the Collector’s Crate, which costs 1.6 ETH ($2,848) and includes 10 Collector’s Packs, or 100 cards, along with extra benefits.
Parallel requires players to choose from five different factions, assemble their own card decks, choose a playable main character card called a “Paragon,” and participate in one-on-one combat. To declare victory, the opponent’s health points must be reduced to zero.
The Collector’s Pack and Collector’s Crate guarantee “rare” cards to purchasers, whereas the Player Pack consists of a combination of common, uncommon, and rare cards. However, players are unable to select the exact cards that will be in their packs.
Parallel’s Planetfall bundles go on presale on October 25 for a limited group of early adopters, then on October 28 for a wider presale. But the game won’t incorporate these new cards until either the first or second quarter of 2024.
It is significant to note that, in contrast to the Ethereum scaling network Base, Parallel’s Planetfall NFT sets will be hosted on the Ethereum mainnet, potentially resulting in higher transaction fees (gas fees). Users won’t have to connect any cryptocurrency to the Base network, though.
Parallel is scheduled to issue an updated patch for its beta version next week. A new in-game store, cosmetic skins, emotes, field backs, and game settings will all be added in this update. There will also be a battle pass. The update will also improve the user experience and user interface (UX/UI) of the game and make sure that decks automatically contain the rarest cards that players own.
Since its July beta launch, Parallel has made over 1,200 distinct NFT kinds available, amounting to around 6 million assets. Since the game’s original NFT release in March 2021, about 78,000 ETH, or about $237 million, have been exchanged in total volume.
Apart from NFT cards and beginning decks, Parallel has also released an avatar PFP collection that offers rewards for winning in-game, such as additional PRIME, the company’s ERC-20 token.
