Oasys Introduces Technical Roadmap for Blockchain Gaming Evolution

Share

Oasys, the gaming-focused blockchain platform, has published a thorough technological roadmap detailing its vision for the future of gaming assets in an attempt to completely reimagine the game industry. The roadmap outlines the main areas of concentration, and App Data Availability, Layer 2 Interoperability, and Ecosystem Scalability are the three main pillars that support Oasys’ technological approach.

The enhancement of digital assets obtained by players in games, such as things, characters, equipment, and accomplishments, is a key component of Oasys’ technology plan. By tackling issues with Layer 2 Interoperability, App Data Availability, and Ecosystem Stability, Oasys seeks to improve the unique features of web3 gaming—like confirming real ownership—while extending the usefulness of these resources.

Ryo Manzoku, representing Oasys, emphasized, “Successful blockchain gaming goes beyond in-game experiences. Optimizing blockchain gaming assets enhances both developer and player experiences, unlocking new value extraction opportunities for players and broadening blockchain gaming’s appeal.”

Tackling Key Challenges

The technical roadmap proposes solutions to significant challenges faced by blockchain game designers and players, including:

  • Mirroring L2 gaming assets on L1 to enhance app data availability.
  • Introducing gaming-specific cross-chain bridges and standardized APIs for seamless asset movement between L2s.
  • Expanding the Oasys Verse Developer Kit (Oasys VDK) to more partners and L2 operators, facilitating faster project launches for game developers.

Over the next 12 months, Oasys aims to collaborate with ecosystem partners to standardize gaming asset specifications and develop use cases supporting developers interested in Oasys.

Longer-term objectives, spanning the next two to three years, include mirroring L2 assets on L1, advancing interoperability solutions at the protocol level, and providing improved developer tools for deploying scalable web3 games.

Expanding Ecosystem with XPLA Verse

Recently, Oasys welcomed the addition of XPLA Verse, an L2 platform developed with support from South Korea’s Com2uS Group. Franchised titles like “Summoners War: Chronicles” and “The Walking Dead: All-Stars” will debut on XPLA Verse, leveraging Oasys’ scalable infrastructure.

Oasys is poised to revolutionize blockchain gaming, offering enhanced experiences and broader opportunities for developers and players alike.
