NFL Rivals Season Kickoff Brings New Cards and Events for Two Year Anniversary

Mythical Games is celebrating the second anniversary of NFL Rivals with a packed Season Kickoff event that runs through September 25. The update brings new player cards, restructured weekly events, and a four-week Power Pass designed to keep fans engaged from start to finish.

Since going live in 2023, NFL Rivals has become one of the most successful Web3 sports games, blending NFL gameplay with blockchain-backed collectibles. To mark two years on the field, Mythical is giving players fresh content and a new rhythm to their weekly grind.

33 New Player Cards

Every NFL team is represented with the release of 33 cards. Two stand out as Mythical: Brock Bowers and Brian Burns. One can only be earned through gameplay, while the other appears in ultra-limited packs. Beyond those, the update adds 11 Legendary, 10 Epic, and 10 Rare cards, with no Common cards included to emphasize scarcity and collectible value.

Weekly Schedule Redefined

The new calendar splits events into two distinct phases. From Monday to Thursday, players can collect resources steadily through weekly currency events. The weekend ramps up with Chase Events, offering higher rewards for competitive play. To close the Season Kickoff, a final Mythical Event will be open exclusively to the top-performing leagues.

Power Pass and Crafting Updates

The four-week Power Pass bundles gems, tokens, packs, and an exclusive Legendary card. Crafting has also been simplified, making it easier to upgrade Rare cards and convert Commons. Mythical said the goal was to improve accessibility while reducing repetitive tasks.

“We’ve cleaned things up, locked in on what works, and built a kickoff program worthy of the grind,” a company spokesperson said.

CEO John Linden added that the changes are a result of lessons learned since launch. “Years of development have helped us refine the balance between accessibility and competitiveness in NFL Rivals,” he explained.

With millions of downloads and a growing community, the new season aims to strike the right balance between fun, challenge, and collectibility — keeping NFL Rivals positioned as one of the leading Web3 sports experiences.
