Moonray has announced an exciting partnership with the Ethereum scaling network Base to launch a unique collection of NFT character skins. This collaboration leverages Base’s blockchain technology to enhance Moonray’s gaming ecosystem, enabling tradable in-game assets and token wagering features.
Starting November 19, players can mint these exclusive NFT character skins on OpenSea for just 48 hours. The collection adds visually distinct and collectible elements to the Moonray game, enhancing the player experience.
Hans Andersson, CBO and co-founder of Moonray Studio, highlighted the player-focused vision behind this initiative. “Our integration with Base blockchain not only enables the trading of these digital items but also ensures true ownership, giving players the flexibility they deserve in the gaming world,” Andersson said.
Beyond aesthetics, the partnership introduces token-based wagering to simplify organizing tournaments and matches. This feature aims to foster community-driven competitions within the Moonray universe.
The wagering system is supported by MNRY, an ERC20 token developed by The Miium Foundation. Designed for competitive gaming, MNRY enhances Moonray’s ecosystem by making community interactions and contests more seamless.
Moonray has already showcased its commitment to innovation with an alpha release on the Epic Games Store. While plans for a PlayStation 5 launch are in motion for next year, the console version will omit Web3 features due to platform restrictions.
Moonray’s vision extends beyond gaming. Early next year, the studio will test a mobile auto-battler game as part of its broader strategy to grow its intellectual property. This includes PC games, graphic novels, and profile pictures.
Additionally, a collaboration with Reel FX aims to adapt Moonray’s game content and books for screen presentations. These efforts reflect Moonray’s commitment to expanding its reach and creating a comprehensive entertainment ecosystem.
