Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia recently launched a new commercial for the PlayStation 5, collaborating with the popular Japanese rock band King Gnu. This advertisement, which showcases King Gnu’s latest song “):Asura:(,” is a creative blend of music and gaming.
In this unique commercial, each of the four King Gnu band members represents one of the iconic PlayStation controller buttons. Yu Seki embodies the “Triangle” button, Daiki Tsuneta represents the “Circle,” Kazuki Arai is the “X,” and Satoru Iguchi takes on the “Square.” In a symbolic transformation, these musicians unite to form “Giant Gnu,” symbolizing breaking beyond their limits.
This advertising campaign is not just limited to the commercial. It expands into the bustling districts of Harajuku and Shibuya in Tokyo, where 20 different locations will feature striking graphics displays as part of the campaign.
