Web3 adoption in Taiwan is getting a major boost as Kaia, the South Korean blockchain project, announced a new partnership with Taiwan Mobile. The deal, signed through the Kaia DLT Foundation, is set to expand blockchain infrastructure across the island with a strong focus on compliance, user safety, and practical applications.

Good to know

  • Kaia will provide compliant fiat and digital asset solutions in Taiwan.
  • The partnership plans to roll out base DeFi infrastructure for developers.
  • Simple blockchain games like Slime Miner and Ragnarok Libre are part of the push.

The collaboration’s first milestone will be the launch of financial services that connect fiat with digital assets under regulatory standards. Both companies see this as essential groundwork to ensure smooth adoption by businesses and everyday users. By rolling out DeFi building blocks, Kaia and Taiwan Mobile aim to create an ecosystem where developers can build apps with fewer barriers.

Kaia is also betting on entertainment as a driver of adoption. Through its integration with Line Next’s Mini Dapp platform, the blockchain has already supported accessible games like Slime Miner and Delabs Games’ Ragnarok Libre, which have attracted early attention.

Dr. Sam Seo, chairman of the Kaia Foundation, highlighted the country’s potential:

On Taiwan Mobile’s side, VP Luke Han emphasized accessibility:

“With Kaia’s blockchain technology and Taiwan Mobile’s extensive market presence, we can lower barriers to entry, expand infrastructure, and bring the exciting use cases of web3 to millions of users.
