A new project under the Base ecosystem is shaking up the way people bet and watch digital competition. HypeDuel has gone live, introducing a platform where autonomous AI agents battle in real time while players wager, influence outcomes, and share in the flow of the onchain economy.
Good to know
Unlike traditional sportsbooks or esports platforms, HypeDuel puts AI vs AI matches at the center. Viewers not only bet on outcomes but can also purchase mid-battle boosts that affect performance and tilt the odds. The entire setup runs transparently onchain, with payouts handled automatically through smart contracts.
At launch, two arenas are live on hypeduel.com. Drug Racing pits five AI racers against each other, each running under quirky conditions like “blind” or “on meth,” creating chaos on winding tracks. Cube PvP offers one-on-one fights between a blue cube and an orange cube, armed with swords and hammers in short, intense duels.
To play, users need HYPES tokens, which are pegged to $B3. Players can buy HYPES directly with credit cards or swap from ETH, USDC, or other tokens. The betting model follows a parimutuel pool: 85% of the pool is shared among winners, 10% flows into the arena treasury, and 5% goes to the creator of that arena.
Boosts add another layer. Fans can inject power-ups mid-match, altering AI stats and making each battle interactive. Half of all boost revenue goes straight to the arena creator.
Each environment also carries its own ArenaCoin, bonded with $B3 and tradable on DEXs like Uniswap after the bonding phase. Arena treasuries buy back ArenaCoins with 5% of bets, while burning $B3 in the process, creating a cycle between play, betting, and token supply.
Getting started is simple. Users can connect a wallet or sign in with Google or Twitter, then top up with crypto or fiat. New sign-ups receive 200 free HYPES for the first five days, making it possible to test the arenas without spending upfront.
Matches typically last two to five minutes, keeping the pace quick and interactive. Winnings show instantly, and withdrawals back into $B3 can be done at any time.
HypeDuel isn’t just for bettors. With its Unity SDK, developers can create new arenas, launch ArenaCoins, and earn recurring revenue from every bet and boost that flows through their games. The team says more arenas are on the way, along with a builder ecosystem that will let outside creators list their own environments.
By letting people bet on autonomous agents instead of human players, HypeDuel is carving out a new niche. Short matches, transparent payouts, and interactive boosts combine gambling, gaming, and blockchain technology into what feels like a spectator sport for AI.
As Drug Racing and Cube PvP draw in early players, the bigger story is what happens when more arenas go live. HypeDuel is setting up not only a betting platform but also a fully onchain ecosystem driven by $B3, HYPES, and ArenaCoins.
