Gods Unchained Unveils Customizable Avatars and Exciting New Features

Share

The well-known blockchain-based card game Gods Unchained has added a new feature that lets users alter their avatars. With this update, gamers can customize their profiles by using their favorite cards as avatars. The revelation was announced by the game’s Growth Lead, who said, “You don’t have to be a rat anymore!” This is a reference to the old default avatar, which users can now switch out for avatars that showcase particular cards from their collection. To further add a degree of personalization, the avatar’s frame will match the card’s rarity.

How to Set Up Custom Avatars

To customize their avatars, players need to access their profile on the game’s dashboard and select the avatar customization option. Players can choose an avatar based on the cards they own. For example, possessing a Thaeriel, The Fallen card allows its use as an avatar. If a player trades or sells this card, the avatar will revert to the default. The avatar frame also changes according to the card’s shine—equipping a Meteorite Thaeriel, for instance, shows a Meteorite Shine Frame. Note that all avatars and frames are non-tradable and non-collectible. Players will lose the corresponding avatar/frame if they sell or trade the card, unless they have multiple copies.

The progression system in Gods Unchained continues to evolve, rewarding players based on their engagement and skill. Recent updates have refined this system, tying player progression to the game’s economic model, where rewards come in the form of cards and fragments. The introduction of new formats, like Flashback, allows players to experience previous metas, enriching gameplay for both veterans and newcomers.

During the recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on the Gods Unchained Discord channel, developers revealed several exciting updates. One significant change involves restructuring the Decentralized Playable Ecosystem (DPE). Players ranked 6 and below will no longer earn Fragments, making victories more crucial for those ranked 7 to 12. This change aims to reward dedicated players more effectively.

Developers also addressed community feedback, including tackling bot-related cheating, ensuring proper tournament prize distribution, and supporting content creators. Additionally, it was revealed that Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians, another popular web3 game, share the same universe, hinting at potential future collaborations within the Immutable ecosystem.
