In a major step toward encouraging equality in society, mental health, and physical exercise, the Global Esports Federation (GEF) has launched the “Fit for Life Day” campaign. This program, which is in line with UNESCO’s “Fit for Life” campaign, demonstrates the GEF’s commitment to tackling modern issues while fostering inclusion, peace, and resilience in communities all over the world. The news is made in conjunction with the much anticipated first Pan American Esports Championships, which will take place in Santiago, Chile, from November 2–4, 2023, in conjunction with the Santiago Pan American Games.
UNESCO has supported “Fit for Life Day,” which has five main goals. The two main ones are to promote high-quality physical education and increase grassroots esports involvement. Through highlighting the connection between esports and physical health, the GEF aims to counteract the rising prevalence of chronic illnesses and physical inactivity, eventually promoting positive change.
Those who are at least eighteen years old, have a strong interest in esports, and understand its benefits are welcome to apply. Users are invited to record and publish up to one-minute-long video clips using the hashtag #FitforLifeDay. The aforementioned films will function as potent demonstrations of the revolutionary impact that esports and physical exercise have in advancing inclusivity, empowerment, and equality.
October 31, 2023 is the deadline for submitting these videos. Specifically, from November 2 to 4, as part of the Pan American Esports Championships (PEC23), innovative material will be crucial to the “Fit for Life Day” event. Additionally, these films will be widely visible on all of the GEF’s communication and social media channels.
The Global Esports Federation’s dedication to using esports’ ability to unite people to promote a healthier, more inclusive society is demonstrated by this effort. It’s a special chance for people to tell their tales and celebrate how esports have improved their communities and personal lives.
