In a landmark move within India’s esports landscape, Gladiators Esports has acquired Bengaluru-based Gods Reign, combining two of the country’s most prominent esports organizations. This acquisition is poised to reshape the future of Indian esports, merging resources and expertise to drive growth and innovation.
The merger will see Gods Reign maintain its name for the esports team, while other aspects of the operation, including content creation and marketing, will now fall under the Gladiators Esports umbrella. This strategic consolidation aims to streamline operations, enhance brand identity, and maximize the combined resources of both entities. Gladiators Esports expressed its excitement about the deal, with a company spokesperson stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Gods Reign into the Gladiators Esports family. This acquisition reflects our commitment to elevating Indian esports and driving its growth. By integrating the renowned Gods Reign brand and its talented roster, we are not only broadening our reach and influence but also creating a nurturing space for our players and creators to excel.”
As part of the deal, Gods Reign has integrated one of India’s most celebrated Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) teams. This lineup includes top-tier players who have proven themselves on some of the most prestigious esports stages. The team is led by Ammar Khan (Destro), a veteran In-Game Leader (IGL), who is joined by Justin Nadar (Justin) and Parth Garg (DeltaPG). Together, the trio made waves in 2023, capturing the BGMI Series (BGIS) title and securing runner-up positions in the BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) and BGMI Pro Series (BMPS).
Shubham Ranjan Sahoo (NinjaJOD), who won the BGIS 2024 title and was a runner-up in the India-Korea Invitational, strengthens the squad. Adding to the team’s success, former BGMI athlete Robin Singh (Robin), who previously led the team to victory in the Titans Rising tournament, will take on a coaching role.
The newly assembled roster, with a combined prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately $276,703) in FY23, is determined to continue their upward trajectory. As Ammar Khan (Destro) reflects, “Having previously played with these talented players and achieved success together, returning to Gods Reign feels like a true homecoming. With our combined strengths and support, we hope to set new benchmarks in BGMI and demonstrate our potential on both national and international stages.”
Beyond esports rosters, Gods Reign is also a hub for top-tier gaming content creators like Thor Gaming, Harshdeep Singh, and AJ Jeffy, who together boast millions of YouTube subscribers and Instagram followers. This acquisition positions Gladiators Esports and Gods Reign to significantly impact India’s rapidly evolving esports and content creation ecosystems.
