Gigaverse is preparing to replace its browser dungeon RPG with Gigaverse Online, an open-world social RPG aimed at players beyond the Web3 gaming audience. No launch date has been confirmed, but the team expects the game within the coming months.
Good To Know
Gigaverse Online will introduce a new economic structure rather than carry the current game forward unchanged. Seasonal progression may reset selected items and resources, while permanent achievements and parts of the wider ecosystem remain linked to each player.
The team said sustainability and entertainment guide the new model. A seasonal format could limit excess item supply, a common issue in blockchain games where rewards continue entering circulation without enough ways to remove them.
Before launch, Gigaverse will run The Awakening as an in-game transition event. Players will use some earned items to craft entry resources, while other assets remain usable during the event. Cores, Medals and earlier accomplishments will contribute to a permanent player record.
Gigaverse has also confirmed ROMs 2.0, but details remain limited. The team has not said whether current ROMs will transfer, change form or receive a separate role in the new economy.
The expansion follows Gigling Racing, a fully onchain racing game released earlier in 2026. Smart contracts record entries and results, while a custom Race Oracle calculates each outcome before placing it onchain.
That structure allows outside developers to create dashboards, agents and alternative interfaces without changing the official client.
Gigaverse tested that model during GIGATHON #1 in June. Developers built analytics tools, companion apps and other community products, with Gigling Racing and AI-assisted development among the main areas. The project currently offers an Agent API without authentication keys and plans a broader platform API.
Gigaverse has not announced a user-generated content system for Gigaverse Online.
