Forge Gaming Platform Secures $11M in Seed Funding for Unique Reward System

Forge, a platform revolutionizing the gaming industry by rewarding players for their in-game achievements, recently announced an impressive $11 million fundraising. The seed round had backing from prominent investors like Animoca Brands, BITKRAFT Ventures, and Makers Fund. Joining the financial influx were HashKey Capital, Polygon Ventures, Formless Capital, and Adaverse. This fundraising coincided with the platform’s beta launch on October 18th.

Founded by gaming visionary Dennis “Thresh” Fong, Crunchyroll’s Kun Gao, and Cyence’s George Ng, Forge had its genesis in 2020 as an AI-driven game moderation system. The initial GGWP project eventually paved the way for a fresh enterprise, striving to amplify gamers’ contributions to gaming communities.

One of Forge’s core visions is enabling players to centralize their gaming accomplishments into one comprehensive profile. Carlos Pereira of BITKRAFT Ventures expressed enthusiasm for this vision. “At BITKRAFT, we see the potential in Dennis Fong, Kun Gao, George Ng’s aim of consolidating gamers’ profiles and rewarding them for participation. What distinguishes Forge is its novel approach – starting with handpicked games and questing incentives to foster community growth. It enhances user experience, drawing more attention and compelling game studios to come onboard.”

Existing supporters of Forge include big names like Riot Games, Sony Innovation Fund, Krafton, and Griffin Gaming Partners. Moreover, the platform has attracted angel investors such as YouTube’s Steve Chen, Twitch creators Emmett Shear and Kevin Lin, Riot Games’ Marc Merrill, and several other industry leaders.

Forge co-founder, Kun Gao, shares his vision for the platform: “We envisioned a platform that genuinely rewards gamers for their identity, gaming history, passion, and involvement. We are steadfast in our belief that players should be in control of their gaming narrative. To kick off the platform’s beta phase, Forge has teamed up with multiple games, including The Sandbox and Pixelmon.
