Farcana, a dynamic gaming company located in the United Arab Emirates, has obtained a strategic investment from Animoca Brands, a Hong Kong-based pioneer in the Web3 market, marking a significant development in the gaming environment. The goal of the funding injection is to accelerate Farcana’s beta debut and deepen the game’s connection to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Developed with Unreal Engine 5, Farcana is a unique third-person shooter team arena game that paves the way for competitive competitions with ongoing Bitcoin reward pools. Notably, Farcana introduces novel “Free Mint” Bitcoin ordinals and is positioned to become one of the first AAA Web3 games. With over 40,000 players, the game has already attracted a sizable user base. Based on early playtests conducted in Dubai, the company intends to provide additional competitions.
It takes a lot of resources to get from a startup to a fully functional game, and much of the money that Animoca Brands is contributing will go toward improving Farcana’s features and ensuring that it works well with the Bitcoin ecosystem. This funding increase is in line with Farcana’s ambitious plan, which calls for the complete game release to happen early in 2019 along with the debut of a coin.

Ilman Shazhaev, founder and CEO of Farcana, acknowledged the fruitful collaboration with Animoca Brands, noting the significant impact on various aspects of the project. Shazhaev remarked, “This strategic investment from Animoca Brands is definitely a significant milestone for Farcana.” He reflected on the productive teamwork, highlighting how the two teams seamlessly collaborated despite being from different companies.
Farcana views its work and collaboration with notable Web3 partners such as Animoca Brands as complimentary to the “Dubai Program for Gaming 2033” that was introduced earlier this month by Dubai’s Crown Prince, HH Sheikh Hamdan, in line with the larger vision for the gaming sector in Dubai. Farcana hopes to strengthen the UAE and Dubai’s digital economy by making contributions in the fields of talent, content, and technology.
