Studio369, an indie game developer, recently announced a successful $5 million fundraising effort to enhance and expand its upcoming PC game, MetalCore, built on the Ethereum platform. Set for an open beta release in May, MetalCore will introduce players to an engaging world of mech suit battles and ground combat, powered by the Immutable zkEVM scaling solution. This period will also mark the debut of the game’s token, aligning with the beta’s launch if all goes as planned.
The funding, featuring contributions from Bitkraft Ventures, Delphi Digital, Sanctor Capital, Spartan Group, and other notable investors, aims to support the game’s development over the next year. This move follows a previous $15 million round in 2022, setting the stage for the game’s public release and token introduction. These financial boosts come at a critical time, following a delay in the game’s original launch schedule due to the postponement of Immutable zkEVM’s mainnet launch, which led to strategic adjustments and a temporary downsizing at Studio369.
Despite these challenges, the enthusiasm for MetalCore’s release hasn’t waned. Currently in its closed beta phase, the game has already attracted players to its dynamically generated missions, offering rewards and a taste of what the full game will offer. With the introduction of the game’s token, players will soon have the opportunity to further enhance their gameplay experience by upgrading their factions and garages, thereby contributing to their faction’s success and unlocking additional rewards.
