StarHeroes has introduced a new dimension to $STAR token staking by incorporating game-like elements and establishing four distinct staking pools. This innovative approach allows token holders to earn additional tokens and accrue StarForce points. These points are poised to grant various advantages to players when the space shooter game, StarHeroes, makes its debut in the public domain in April 2024.
The official announcement marks the commencement of this gamified staking on the Arbitrum platform, highlighting the benefits for stakers with the game’s release later in the month.
From April 4th, at 4 PM UTC, $STAR token holders have the opportunity to engage in this unique staking experience. The staking rewards not only include additional tokens but also StarForce points, which escalate with the duration and volume of tokens staked. For example, staking in the 15-day Nebula Pool with a 1x StarForce multiplier will result in receiving 100 StarForce points weekly for every 100 tokens staked.
For those who received tokens through airdrops, this staking venture offers a chance to unlock the remaining 50% of their tokens, as stated in the release.
Participants can choose from four staking pools—Nebula, Comet, Galaxy, and Supernova—with each providing different Annual Percentage Yields (APYs), StarForce multipliers, and unbounding periods:
An incentive for early stakers includes a 10x StarForce multiplier boost for those who stake within the first 24 hours of launch.
The unstaking process, or ‘unbounding’, involves a burn fee for those who choose to unstake before the period concludes, with fees decreasing over time. The initial fees are set at 6% for Nebula Pool, 18% for Comet Pool, 36% for Galaxy Pool, and 72% for Supernova Pool.
StarForce points serve as ecosystem rewards distributed weekly across the staking pools, designed to provide a competitive edge in the game upon its launch. These points will offer in-game benefits such as enhanced Hero NFT progression through bonus experience points and improved positions on the game’s leaderboard through additional HeroScore points. This is particularly relevant for the Public Access Season 1, where players can vie for greater $STAR rewards. Additionally, these points play a crucial role in unlocking the latter half of the $STAR Airdrop from StarHeroes Beta Season 2.
