British Esports, the UK’s national esports federation, is gearing up for its third consecutive appearance at Bett UK, the world’s premier EdTech event. Scheduled from January 24 to 26, Bett UK is a hub for over 30,000 educators, innovators, and changemakers, as well as more than 600 EdTech and resource solution providers.
At this year’s event, British Esports will once again host the Esports @ Bett theatre, a segment that has become a crowd favorite. The theatre will feature a diverse array of talks, panels, interactive sessions, and workshops, all centered on the burgeoning field of competitive gaming.
The content at Esports @ Bett is designed to benefit educators and policymakers. It will focus on integrating esports into educational settings and explore strategies to boost student learning, engagement, and accessibility. Special emphasis will be on addressing the needs of learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Furthermore, the event will highlight how esports fosters key transferable skills, such as communication, leadership, strategic thinking, and social awareness. It will also showcase the career opportunities available in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields through esports.
Esports @ Bett will feature key speakers from British Esports, including President Chester King, Vice President Tom Dore, Head of Education Kalam Neale, Head of Operations Alice Whorely, and Head of Partnerships Gary Tibbett. Alongside these insightful talks, attendees will witness a thrilling Rocket League tournament, showcasing top esports talents from schools and colleges across the UK, all part of the British Esports Student Champs.
Kalam Neale, Head of Education at British Esports, expressed enthusiasm about returning to Bett UK. “Last year, over 1,000 educators attended Esports @ Bett, learning about esports’ significant impact on education,” Neale stated.
Bjorn Sirum, Head of Product at Bett, echoed this sentiment saying:
“We’re excited to be continuing to showcase the transformative influence of esports at Bett alongside one of the world’s leading esports federations in British Esports. Join us from January 24th to 26th for an immersive esports experience as we dive into the educational prowess and widespread appeal of esports,”
