The independent game developer AVALON has revealed that BITKRAFT Ventures and HASHED are co-leading a significant $10 million fundraising round. Coinbase Ventures, Spartan Capital, Foresight Ventures, LiquidX, and Momentum6 are a few more noteworthy players. Their first game, also called AVALON, is what this influx of cash is intended for.
AVALON was founded by industry veteran Jeffrey Butler, who gained notoriety for his work on EverQuest. The crew at AVALON is made up of seasoned professionals that have worked on popular games like Call of Duty, Diablo, God of War, Assassin’s Creed, and Elden Ring. This most recent capital round comes after a $13 million investment that was first disclosed in February 2023.
The studio, established in 2021, prides itself on its award-winning leadership, drawn from prominent studios including Microsoft, Sony, Capcom, Infinity Ward, and Ubisoft. With expertise spanning the entire game development lifecycle, the team is well-equipped to deliver high-quality AAA titles across various genres, including MMO role-playing games, adventure games, and competitive shooters.
