Apeiron, the Ethereum trading card strategy game, has made waves in the gaming world by announcing its groundbreaking Apeiron Guild Wars 2024 with a staggering $1 million prize pool.
Apeiron Guild Wars 2024 promises intense competition as the top 12 guilds, akin to clans in traditional games, vie for supremacy. The pinnacle of the tournament will be the in-person finals slated for Q3 2024 in Hong Kong, where players will battle for a share of the monumental prize pool.
The $1 million prize pool will be distributed among participants based on their tournament rankings, with half of it in dollars and the other half represented by the monetary value of Apeiron NFTs. Additionally, event sponsors may offer additional bonuses to further elevate the stakes.
Frank Cheng, CEO of Foonie Magus, the developer behind Apeiron, emphasized the importance of nurturing a competitive gaming environment. He highlighted how tournaments and live streams not only engage existing players but also attract a broader audience, ultimately driving mass adoption of the game.
Cheng elaborated on Apeiron’s unique approach, stating, “If you look at Web2 esports, it’s been challenging to find a way for it to be sustainable. From our perspective, our robust Web3 tokenized economy completes a positive feedback loop with our competitive scene. Players come in to compete, thereby stimulating the economy which then itself provides the resources to make the competitive events happen. Our goal is to kick-start this loop with big events such as the Apeiron Guild Wars 2024.”
While Apeiron’s esports scene is still in its infancy, Cheng expressed confidence in the team’s ability to maintain game balance and integrity. Despite being in open beta, the game designers are diligently monitoring its evolution to ensure a fair and engaging competitive landscape.
The tournament kicks off with preliminary rounds commencing on May 21 and concluding on June 25. Guilds will compete in online leaderboards until July 2, with top performers advancing to the highly anticipated Apeiron Guild Wars 2024.
