With an additional $10 million investment, Animoca Brands Corporation Limited has taken a risky move to boost the expansion of Mocaverse, its platform for promoting digital property rights in the open metaverse. The $31.88 million in prior investments announced last year helped build Mocaverse’s interoperable infrastructure for consumer cryptocurrency adoption, and this funding comes after that.
A free-attaching warrant for MOCA Coin at a fully diluted value (FDV) of $1 billion is part of the most recent tranche, which intends to further improve Mocaverse’s tech stack, which is specifically made to accommodate massive user ecosystems. This investment was made possible by well-known companies like Republic Crypto, CMCC Global, and OKX Ventures, indicating a strong commitment to growing Mocaverse.
Mocaverse, created to enable Web3 interoperability, focuses on Account, Identity, and Reputation systems essential for widespread crypto adoption. Through its Realm SDK, the platform offers developers a robust toolkit for crafting reputation-based ecosystems compatible across multiple networks within the Moca Network. Earlier in 2024, Mocaverse launched its Moca ID, a decentralized identity system that allows users to establish their online identity within the Web3 environment.
Since its release, Moca ID has gained significant traction, with over 1.79 million IDs registered and more than 160 Web3 activations in collaboration with key partners, including Pixels, BLOCKLORDS, and OKX Wallet. These achievements illustrate Mocaverse’s goal of empowering individuals in the digital space. “Digital lives will become our platforms, and we will rightfully own those platforms and their connected (economic) benefits through Web3,” said Yat Siu, Animoca Brands’ co-founder and executive chairman.
To further expand its reach, Mocaverse has established partnerships with major cultural platforms, such as MyAnimeList and One Football, with the potential to onboard over 218 million monthly active users through new identity systems, Anime ID and Football ID. Additionally, Mocaverse recently partnered with the TON Foundation, connecting with up to 900 million active users on Telegram Messenger.
Yat Siu expressed the company’s commitment, saying, “With Mocaverse and its Realm Network we are bringing the Web3 ethos of interoperability to life, driving decentralization and shared network effects.” This round of investment reflects a shared vision with key industry leaders, as Mocaverse seeks to reshape the digital landscape for millions of users.
