An encouraging development is the collaboration between Singapore-based blockchain game firm Affyn and Hong Kong-based meme community 9GAG. Through creative projects, this strategic alliance seeks to increase brand visibility and foster a sense of community.
9GAG, which has amassed 200 million users since its founding in 2008, has forged a distinctive niche for itself in the online space. In contrast to traditional publishing companies, 9GAG has used nontraditional tactics, such as taking part in accelerator programs like Y-Combinator and 500 Startups. The startup is expanding its reach beyond humorous graphics with a $2.8 million fundraising round, looking for new ways to improve user involvement and value.
In announcing the partnership, CEO and co-founder Ray Chan highlighted 9GAG’s intention to integrate Affyn’s gaming character IPs with meme culture. The next Buddy Arena game will have a selection of unique in-game goodies as a result of this union. In order to provide consumers with a distinctive and captivating experience, Chan expressed excitement about combining these disparate cultures.
Promoting community involvement and increasing their footprint in the web3 sphere are two objectives that 9GAG and Affyn have in common. Recently, Affyn introduced Omnia Sync, a state-of-the-art multichain gaming environment with $20 million in investment, with the goal of improving user experiences. The collaboration with 9GAG offers a chance for cooperative research, utilizing the advantages of both platforms to open up new avenues for web3 gaming.
