James Bond fans won’t have to wait much longer for a brand-new adventure. IO Interactive confirmed that 007 First Light will release on March 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game will introduce a bold new take on Bond’s origin story, mixing espionage, action, and cinematic flair.

Good to Know

  • Launches March 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC.
  • Four different editions available: Standard, Deluxe, Specialist, and Legacy.
  • IO Interactive says gameplay blends stealth, action, and creativity tailored to Bond.

Instead of retelling familiar stories, IO Interactive is charting its own course. 007 First Light follows a young James Bond before he became the world’s most iconic spy. After showing bravery as a Naval air crewman, Bond is recruited into MI6’s Double 0 program. But when an early mission goes wrong, he must work with a reluctant mentor named Greenway to uncover a conspiracy threatening the heart of the State.

Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, said the studio wanted to capture both the tension of espionage and the spectacle of the franchise:

“With 007 First Light, we’re building a wholly original James Bond experience from the ground up, one that blends the sharp tension of espionage with the bold spectacle the franchise is known for. The gameplay is rooted in our signature approach to immersive design, combining stealth, action, and creativity in a way that feels uniquely tailored to Bond.”
