TSA suspends employees over sports betting

The Transaportation and Security Administration has suspended almost 50 of its employees at the Pittsburgh International Airport for alleged sports betting activity within the workplace. The investigation took several months to conclude and a decision was taken to suspend 47 workers and to send 10 letters of reprimand to another 10 workers.

A spokesperson for the TSA also mentioned that they are considering firing 5 other employees and those who will be suspended won't be working for a period of 3 to 14 days. The federal agency also stated that despite the sports betting activity within the workplace, none of the involved agents at any point deserted their duties and routines. The TSA announced has vowed to discipline the employees involved in the scandal but is forced to do so in stages so as to not disrupt activity at the airport.
