Sports Betting Reformers to Push Bill C-209 on Canadian Senate

Share

The supporters of sports betting reforms in Canada are pushing Bill C-209, a sports betting legislation which would legalize single betting in the country, unto the Canadian Senate. The final vote on the bill has been delayed because of “out of touch, unelected representatives”.

Supporters of the bill will initiate another public awareness campaign at the end of January. Even the Canadian Chamber of Commerce has lobbied the Senate for it to finally address the voting issue on Bill C-209 after it has been stagnant for almost two years.

The Senate’s denial to address the bill is getting to a point where voices have called for the abolition of the entire organization and could drive anti-Senate activists to support the pro-sports-betting movement.
