Sporting Index has become the official betting partner of British racing in the framework of the Authorized Betting Partner (ABP) scheme. According to the agreement, the financial relationship between both entities will extend until the end of March 2019.
In the current state of affairs, Sporting Index’s remote betting operations are in the scope of the Levy. However, should any of those be transferred outside the UK within the term of the contract, the sponsor agrees to voluntary contributions to British racing.
Benefits for Sporting Index stemming from the deal include the use of a kitemark across assets, media promotions, talks with racing on the composition of the fixture list as well as account management services.
Paul Turner, Head of Sporting Index, welcomed the partnership, “Sporting Index have been passionate supporters of British racing for 25 years, and I’m delighted to underline our commitment to the future of the sport by becoming an Authorized Betting Partner.”
According to Will Lambe, Director of Corporate Affairs for the British Horseracing Authority, both racing and betting will enjoy benefits as a result of the Authorized Betting Partnership which will continue until the new Levy Replacement system is put in place in April.
