Sportech, one of the leading UK football pool companies, has bought out betting specialist firm Data Tote for £3.1 million. The deal would see Sportech secure its place as one of Europe’s largest provider of sports and race wagering technologies and client services.
Data Tote, a company specializing in greyhound races and general racecourses had recently started supplying Coral with a variety of sports pool services and programs. As soon as the acquisition deal has been completed, Sportech will be the exclusive wagering services provider for 95% of greyhound tracks in the UK and Ireland.
Ian Penrose, CEO of Sportech, said in a statement: “I am delighted that Sportech has acquired a highly innovative organisation with a talented management team and a wide European customer base. This complementary business will strengthen and augment our global operations and widen our distribution in Europe.”
