Armenian referee Andranik Arsenyan and assistant Hovhannes Avagyan, were banned for life by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body (CDB). The suspension was granted in an attempt to manipulate a game result of an Europa League match last month between FC Inter Turku and Vikingur.
The officials admitted trying to change the results of the second-leg fixture which ended 1-0, Vikingur in favour. The UEFAs betting fraud detection system (BFDS) noticed some suspicious patterns which lead to a further investigation.
