The PGA Tour is launching a new Integrity Program with the help of London-based sports data provider company Genius Sports, set to be introduced in 2018.
The PGA Tour announced Genius Sports would start a new program to protect its competition from the outside influences gambling influence linked to gambling.
Genius Sports will help with their technology services to help track the fake bets. The company is
further expected to educate the players and other team members on how to resist and report approaches from the third party, and the illegality of their future wager.
It will also ensure that anybody related to players and the tour is not allowed to bet on the events. The new betting guidelines will fall under the PGA’s “Integrity Programme”, set to begin on January 1, 2018.
PGA stated in a press release that the partnership is aimed at maintaining the “integrity and prevent and mitigate betting-related corruption in PGA Tour competitions”, thus ensuring the competition reflects and appear to reflect the best of efforts from players and those involved in the PGA tour.
