Paddy Power and Facebook team up

Social networking service Facebook and bookmaker Paddy Power, have teamed up in a project that will offer online sports betting to at least 2,000 players in the United Kingdom. According to Chief Executive Officer of Paddy Power, Patrick Kennedy, the project will hope to launch more broadly in the next six to eight weeks depending on the learnings from that.”

The bookmaker has invested on Facebook a large amount of money, as they see the social media’s important potential market. This idea has been developing for more than a year with the help of technicians from around the globe. To launch this project, a special software had to be designed allowing real-money on game betting and Paddy Power has become the first bookmaker to provide this.
