In an affort to join the four states currently allowed to offer at least some kind of sports gambling, New Jersey has placed a last request this Wednesday before the U.S. Court of Appeals in Philadelphia. However, lawyers for the four major professional sports leagues and the NCAA immediately expressed their position against this appeal.
Some of the arguments in its favour included that “the leagues have not, and cannot, prove that controlling sports gambling and regulating it, will somehow hurt the leagues” said lawyer Ted Olson, representing New Jersey.
