New FA Rules Prevent Football Players and Coaches from Betting

The Football Association (FA) has announced that new betting rules will be implemented during the upcoming season with regards to players and coaching on all eight levels of professional football.

No player or coach involved in any sort of professional football in the UK will be allowed to bet, or be involved in betting, on worldwide football activity. The rules are stated to be very simple, as no involvement in any sort of betting with regards to football is allowed for players and coaching employed by football clubs.

Other club employees and match officials are also restricted by these new rules that will be another step in the right direction when it comes to fair play both on and off the field.

The FA will visit will all clubs about these new regulations to make sure it’s clear that betting will not be condoned in any way shape or form. It’s expected that bans and fines will be much harsher going forward with regards to any sort of match fixing or betting incidents with current players and/or staff.
