NCAA Tournament Bets Odds Keep Shifting

One of the biggest sports betting events in the United States is without question the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament. Betting on the tournament winner for some people is a lifelong passion, and once again there’s been some major shifts in who to bet on about 10 days before the tournament starts.

This event, known as March Madness, starts on March 18th and runs all the way until April 7th when the Championship game will be held at the AT&T Center in Arlington, Texas. Among the top favorites we haven’t seen that many changes as the Florida Gators went from 6/1 to 5/1 since February 17. The undefeated Wichita State Shockers did go from 14/1 to 9/1, but that wasn’t unexpected as they rattled off their 31st straight win last Saturday.

It gets more interesting down the line, as Virginia Cavaliers went from 25/1 to 14/1 while the Iowa State Cyclones jumped from 25/1 to 50/1. This bet, on Iowa State seems to be one of the most interesting. The Cyclones started impressively strong but have tailed off since, if they manage to regain their focus and winnings ways it could prove to be a great bet at 50/1.

One of the things we have to keep in mind though is that no seed lower than the 8th (Villanova -1995) has won the tournament. While the seeds are not known yet the current projected eighth seed are Memphis (100/1), SMU (100/1), Kansas State (200/1) and Arizona State (200/1). Are you calling your long shot or going with some top favorite? Perhaps it might even be interesting to give at least one of the long shots a go, even if it’s for just a few bucks.
