Mobile sports betting blooming in the US

In 2011, one in five bets placed on online gambling sites were placed using a Smartphone in the UK. That same year, £13 billion in bets were placed using mobile devices worldwide.

The figure is thought to increase to $45 billion by 2017 and the US will represent most of its growth. With mobile sports betting now legal in Nevada, anyone within the Nevada’s border can place a bet using a Smartphone.

Other states such as New Jersey and Illionois are working to legalize sports betting using mobile devices.
