Mobile betting big on Paddy Power

Paddy Power’s mobile gaming profits doubled in the first half of 2013 and its customer based rose to account for two thirds of its total one million active sports bettors. The company has replied on concerns that mobile gaming would cannibalize its brick and mortar operations saying that at leats half of its online customer based also make use of the shops and kiosks.

Paddy Power also pointed out it would be opening 40 new shops this year in the UK, for a total high street sports books of 240. The corporation saw its half year pre-tax profits grow by 12% to over £66 million. Mobile gaming trends have grown increasingly all over the UK. For example, it now makes up for about 17% of 888 Holdings gaming revenues.
