bwin who is Manchester United’s sponsor has rustled some feathers with the football club, for offering betting markets on Sir Alex Ferguson making a comeback at the club as football manager next season. bwin is offering odds of 11-2 on Ferguson coming back.
Insiders of the football club are not happy with the online gambling and sports betting company and have descibed the offering of odds on Ferguson returning to Manchester United as a cheap trick and bad publicity stunt. A club spokesman said, “Bwin are our partners rather than a subsidiary company and we have no influence on their markets”.
As for Sir Alex Ferguson, he has been very clear on the subject and has stated many times that he has no intention on returning or working as football manager. A spokesman for bwin said, “You never know what is going to happen in football. We have a selection of Ferguson betting opportunities following his book release.”
