Intralot Sponsoring Swimmer Apostolos Christou for Olympics

Intralot announced today that they will be the official sponsor of the Greek swimming champion Apostolos Christou, providing him with support towards his preparation for his participation in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.


Christou won the gold medal in 100 meter backstroke earlier this year, set a world record in the European Junior Swimming Championship this summer as well as won a silver medal in the 50 meter backstroke in the Youth Olympics in 2014 in China. In 2013 the talented swimmer won gold at the World Championship in Dubai and is the most talented swimmer in Greece at the moment.


Christou has won a total of 26 medals for Greece through his short career and has participated in a total of 14 international competitions around the world.


"I would like to thank INTRALOT for coming forth in support of my efforts and become my sponsor for the next two years," said the champion. As part of the "Adopt an Athlete on the Road to Rio" program, INTRALOT received an award from the Greek Olympic Committee for its initiative to support the athlete. The prize was awarded to Mr. Antonios I. Kerastaris, INTRALOT Group Chief Financial Officer, at a special ceremony held on Monday at the headquarters of the Hellenic Olympic Committee in Athens, in the presence of government officials and representatives of sports organizations.
