Indiana legalize online sports betting

Last week Indiana joined the States with legal online sports betting. The Authority provides two sportsbooks with the green light to launch on October 3. Betrivers received its legal authorization in advance, while DraftKings Sportsbook got last it last minute just a day before.

Indiana is a small market in terms of population compared to the other stated with legal state online sports betting. The state is mostly occupied by brick and mortar casinos and other gambling establishments, and more with a big base of fervent sports fans. Only in a month legal retail sport betting 13 casinos and OTB's already started operations.

The Hoosier State is the seventh in the US to join full mobile betting:

  • Iowa
  • Nevada
  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • West Virginia

The Indiana Gaming Commission would approve a third operator for mobile sports at the end of this month. Executive Director Sara Gonso Tait told Legal Sports Report that there will "probably" be another launch before the end of October, though it's likely still a few weeks out.
