After 45 years of service with William Hill’s, Graham Sharpe the Media Relations Directoris packing it in. He made his name by not only being a distinguished sports author and journalist but co-founding the famous ‘William Hill Sportsbook of the Year’ prize; a sponsorship initiative that is the company is renowned for.
He was hugely influential in making betting popular with the general public and dynamically raising the company’s overall profile.
Sharpe was synonymous with gambling and his name was ubiquitous in the tabloids when a betting story appeared.
He will leave the FTSE William Hill this month but will continue to act as a consultant for the company’s Sportsbook of the Year prize.
It is clear that from now on, William Hill will have a smaller communications team after the recent departure of their public relations lead, Jonathan Ivan-Duke.
