Eastern European gambling operator Fortuna Entertainment Group has officially announced its acquisition of gaming software provider Hattrick Sports Group and the latter’s related assets.
The move is in line with Fortuna’s strategic goal of becoming the most powerful licensed multi-channel sports betting and gaming operator in Central and Southeastern Europe.
In particular, the deal will entail the takeover of Hattrick’s Romanian betting operator Casa Pariurilor, as well as a breakthrough in the Croatian and Spanish markets where Fortuna will add, respectively, Prva Sportska Kladionica PSK and joint venture Luckia to its corporate assets.
Per Widerström, CEO of Fortuna Entertainment Group, commented that the deal would result in more appealing offers for their customers, and would also increase value for shareholders.
In turn, Carsten Sundberg, CEO of Hattrick Sports Group, added that the acquisition was a very well aligned strategic move for both companies. In his own words, “The transaction will add significant geographical reach and market diversity to Fortuna and will allow the group to further strengthen its position in the core markets and beyond.”
