DC Sports Betting App Launch Delayed Due To Coronavirus

According to the office of Lottery and Gaming, the news of delaying the launch of DC sports betting has been officially confirmed. The DC Sports betting lottery platform was scheduled to launch on March 31st as per earlier dates. But the scenario has changed now with the risen cases of Coronavirus everywhere. The global pandemic has brought uncertainty to the world of sports; this particular reason had led to a change of plans in Washington.

The director of marketing and communications, Nicole Jordan said, “We are revising pur sports wagering launch strategy based on the current state of world events, but will be posting information about the platform in the coming days, including the brand and its functionalities.”

“The lottery and Intralot are prepared to launch the platform when it is safe for the sports world to return,” he added further.

The announcement of branding by DC Lottery

The DC Lottery has finally revealed its first look and details about the Intralot-powered platform called Gamblet DC. In a 30 second video released by the company, the lottery gives a glimpse of look and feel of the app. The trailer video can be found on their introduction page.

They have also mentioned the USB of the app, like how easy it is to use the app: “With GambletDC, you can place a bet anytime and anywhere YOU like to play- like while in your favourite bar, walking down the street or from the comfort of your home.”

Options included in DC Sports betting

The no-bid contract to supply mobile DC sports betting was won by Intralot via the Lottery. The deals came under a high scrutiny for both Intralot and Councilman Jack Evans who was sponsoringthe bill. He was later expelled from the council because of the violation of ethic.

The district has also authorized restaurants, bars, and sports venues to launch sportsbooks. However, those are the offering will be easily and widely available on Intralot’s lottery app.
