British Punters Wins £1,342,599 on Horse Racing

Sometimes you lose and sometimes you win in betting, that’s how it has always been and it will always continue to be so. For eight British punters however, they might never be in an overall minus from betting ever again, as they all won a massive £1,342,599 this weekend on the Scoop 6 races.

The Scoop 6 is basically a type of jackpot that punters can win by betting from £2 on six televised horse races on Saturdays. The past weeks the jackpot attracted so many punters that the jackpot just continued to grow massively, before being triggered this weekend.

One of the winners of the massive prize is a man from London, who does credit-controls for a living. The man requested to be anonymous to the press, but told them that he had won the massive prize from placing a bet with a local Paddy Power bookie. He first thought that he hadn’t won, as he checked the 3:10 PM race at Haydock and noticed his horse was not in the top three – What he didn’t know at that time was that the horse didn’t participate and that his coupon got transferred to Joyeue, the favourite of the race.

“I checked the results and when March wasn’t in the frame thought, ‘Oh well that’s that,’ he said after the Alan King-trained Chatez had won the sixth and last leg in the hands of Fergus Sweeney. I don’t know why but just before I binned the ticket I thought I’d check the non-runners just in case and I’m glad I did!” The anonymous winner told to the press after his amazing win.
