Chhabra has joined TSX-listed Amaya Inc., but as yet he has not been given an official title. But it is known that he will act as the corporate M&A lead as the firm is seeking to expand on its industrial portfolio.
Until now, Chhabra as an industry finance expert was William Hill’s corporate strategy head where he advised the FTSE-listed bookmaker on asset valuation and M&A initiatives.
It is clear that the firm is on an expansion path and wanting to diversify its product portfolio in regulated gambling markets and last year Rafi Ashkenazi, the group CEO stated that his firm had an ‘appetite for risk’ after settling their long-term debt and installing a new top executive team.
Chhabra’s role will be to assess potential corporate acquisition targets which could boost their sports betting and online casino capabilities.
